The game loads no external fonts, libraries or CDNs. ## Word lists at a glance | File | Contents | License | |---|---|---| | `js/answers-en.js` | English daily answers (schedule order) and the practice pool | **CC BY-SA 4.0**; words from SCOWL (notice below) | | `js/valid-en.js` | English valid guesses | SCOWL notice (permissive) | | `js/answers-es.js` | Spanish daily answers (schedule order) and the practice pool | **CC BY-SA 4.0** for the selection; the words come from RLA-ES, so the **MPL 1.1** notice is also kept | | `js/valid-es.js` | Spanish valid guesses | **MPL 1.1** (RLA-ES) | Each file starts with its own license header. ## Sources ### FrequencyWords (both languages, used to choose the answers) Answer selection uses word-frequency data from *FrequencyWords* by Hermit Dave (https://github.com/hermitdave/FrequencyWords), licensed CC BY-SA 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/). Our answer lists are a filtered selection derived from that data. - Changes made: we kept only 5-letter words that are also in the dictionaries below; ranked them by frequency; removed plurals, verb forms, proper nouns, slurs, profanity and words unsuitable for a family game (with a manual review); swapped some words by hand; and shuffled the daily order with a fixed seed. No frequency counts or ranks are shipped. - Both answer lists (`js/answers-en.js`, `js/answers-es.js`), including the practice pools, are therefore released under **CC BY-SA 4.0** (full text: `licenses/CC-BY-SA-4.0.txt`). This applies only to the word-list data, not to the game code, art or text. ### English: SCOWL - **SCOWL (Spell Checker Oriented Word Lists), 2020.12.07**, by Kevin Atkinson, http://wordlist.aspell.net/ - Valid guesses come from SCOWL sizes 10–80, English and American.
